• SHARS Dual Contact tool holder can only be used on machine center with dual
contact spindle Simultaneous Fitting on taper contact and flange face
contact eliminates the gap between tool holder and spindle
• With simultaneous fit between the spindle taper face and flange face of the tool to improve rigidity and accuracy
holder, dual contact tooling eliminates the 1/8” gap between the flange face of the
tool holder and the spindle nose, compared to the standard tool holder with the 1/8"
gap, to increase rigidity, minimize vibration, reduce runout, and greatly improve
machining finished, performance improvement is tremendous in heavy metal
removal rate or high speed machining, deep or large diameter boring, especially
in extend length heavy cutting, and also in improving tool life of end mill due to
minimum vibration
• Dual contact tool holders are manufactured to micron precision specification with
strictly controlled dimension and tolerance to match with dual contact spindle
• Taper accuracy is ground exceeding AT3 standard for optimal T.I.R
• Simultaneous fit of taper and face will prevent vibration due to heavy or
high speed cutting and reduces fretting corrosion on taper to extend both spindle
and tool holder life
• At high spindle rotating speed (over 10000 RPM), dual contact tool holder prevents
the tool holder being pulled into the spindle due to centrifugal force and heat,
eliminating variation in Z axis projection length
• Many of the world’s leading CNC machine center manufacturers already offer dual
contact spindle as standard equipment
